slowing down in sensory perception may be expected in older adults.

A properly operating nervous system is necessary for an
individual to function independently, drive safely, care for themselves,
manage their assets, and make wise judgments. The ability and
Inability to perform daily activities equates to disability, which is not the
same as aging.
Memory loss can be devastating for some. Many people have
routines in place to preserve their executive functioning. My father
used to write, while my grandfather believed that veganism helped
him maintain his mental faculties.
